Freeport Community Services
Staff Events Board of Directors
A brief history...

Freeport Community Services had a simple beginning back in the early 70's, located in a room above a volunteer's garage. Incorporating as a 501c3 in 1974, FCS has continued to grow to meet the needs of their community. FCS moved to Depot Street in the early 90's and recently completed the historic restoration of their two buildings along with the construction of a large connected building. This beautiful and functional center, known as The Freeport Community Center, now houses many community organizations. It can be seen in the photos below. Or better yet, you are most welcome to visit!

  • Facilitate programs to address defined needs
  • Provide information and referral concerning social service or other human needs
  • Help people access services
  • Provide direct services when appropriate including the operation of a food pantry to provide free emergency food for people who need it in our community
