Strengthening What Matters | Creating Space for What’s Next
Since 1974, we’ve designed our Community Center to be a refuge, providing food, clothing, household goods, medical supplies, and a caring community. We are a place people go to when they need help and later return to because they know they’re valued.
Today, the needs of our community are growing, and we are called to do more. Guided by compassion, integrity, and inclusivity, FCS is ready to expand our space to better serve our neighbors now and for generations to come.
The Neighbor Helping Neighbor campaign has already received tremendous support, a powerful reflection of how deeply people believe in FCS and its future. We are grateful to the businesses and individuals who have already contributed. Thanks to their generosity, we are well on our way with $2.8 million raised to date.
Now is the time to help us reach our $3.5 million goal to fully bring this vision to life.

Why Expansion Matters
Currently, our Food Pantry operates within four small rooms. Narrow spaces limit how many people can shop and create barriers for those with mobility needs. The result is longer waiting times, less efficient use of space, and a less accessible shopping experience.
The Thrift Shop generates nearly half of our annual revenue for our programs. Today, the shop operates at the front of the building while donations, sorting, and storage take place on the opposite side. Staff and volunteers also move new stock across the building daily. The building-wide demands of its current space impact everyone who visits and works here.
We have made our spaces work through creativity and resourcefulness for years, but our community is asking more of us now. This project will help us build on what makes our Community Center special and carry that spirit forward for years to come.
Your Donation Will Help Create More Efficient Spaces to Serve Our Community Better
Food Pantry visitors will have more room to shop comfortably, with an activity area where children can play and learn while their parents select the food they need.
Thrift Shop donors will have a smoother donation experience, while shoppers will enjoy more space to browse. Staff and volunteers will be able to manage their work more efficiently behind the scenes.
Together, these changes will create a more welcoming, accessible, and connected Community Center for everyone — now and into the future.
