A Spring Gathering

The FCS 2025 gala is set for Friday, May 16th at 6pm in the Leon A. Gorman Conference Center at the L.L.Bean Corporate Campus Headquarters on Casco Street in Freeport.

This year’s event promises an inspiring evening featuring a special guest speaker and the inaugural presentation of the Neighbor Helping Neighbor Award.

Pianist Bess Jacques will provide musical entertainment. You can learn more about her at www.bessjacques.com.

As always, an array of delicious bites and a desert bar is included in your ticket. A signature cocktail, mocktail and draft Maine Beer Co beer will also be available.

We can’t wait to celebrate Freeport and Pownal with you—see you there!

A Spring Gathering
Our Special Guest

We are thrilled to be hosting Dr. Nirav Shah, former head of the Maine CDC and former Deputy Director of the USCDC, as our special guest at this year’s A Spring Gathering.

Dr. Shah will speak about the latest research on the connection between food and health.

2025 Neighbor Helping Neighbor Award

Freeport Community Services is proud to introduce the Neighbor Helping Neighbor Award, recognizing individuals and organizations that have consistently demonstrated exceptional support for FCS and gone above and beyond to help those in need.

This year, FCS will present two Neighbor Helping Neighbor Awards.

We are honored to recognize Ed and Jane Bradley, who have been generous donors to FCS for 25 years. Ed played a pivotal role as chair of the Campaign Committee, leading efforts to expand the FCS building into the thriving Community Center it is today.

We are also pleased to present this award to Bath Savings, a steadfast supporter of FCS for 30 years. In addition to contributing to our building fund and providing dedicated volunteers, Bath Savings’ Tom Whelan has served as chair of our board, further strengthening our mission.

FCS is grateful for their unwavering commitment to our community. We look forward to awarding the inaugural recipients at A Spring Gathering.
