Yesterday afternoon, the FCS Board of Directors met to discuss the Parents’ Rights in Education Maine event scheduled for Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the Community Center.
After thoughtful consideration, the Board decided to cancel the event, exercising our rights under the rental agreement.
We understand there are varying perspectives in our community about both hosting and canceling the event, and we hope all concerned will respect this decision.
For over 50 years, we’ve been committed to enriching lives, connecting neighbors, and supporting the Freeport and Pownal communities. As a private nonprofit, we aim to keep our space neutral and in alignment with our overall mission.
