30 Mar Age-Friendly Freeport & Pownal Launches Action Plan

The Age-Friendly Freeport Action Plan, approved and launched by the group’s Steering Committee in March 2020, is the culmination of age-friendly community building efforts that began in the fall of 2015 with a community-wide Needs Assessment for the towns of Freeport and Pownal.

Findings of this Needs Assessment confirmed concerns that were consistently voiced to FCS regarding “Keeping Seniors Home” and were the impetus for FCS to take the lead in this important community building endeavor. Amed with data that reinforced what they knew anecdotally, FCS began the process of building a community-driven initiative which ultimately resulted in the planning and development of an Age-Friendly Action Plan for Freeport and Pownal.
