This year, Freeze Out raised a total of $24,500, crushing our goal of $20,000!
We are honored the Freeport and Pownal communities showed such support for Freeport Community Services’ heating assistance program. This is a huge win for those in our community who benefit from the Carol Kaplan Fuel Fund, which acts as an important supplement to federal and state heating assistance programs.
We are lucky to have such a supportive business community. We are also very fortunate to have dedicated individuals in our communities who take it on themselves to donate funds, come outside in the cold to ask strangers for support, or even share the event with their family and friends.
See you next year!

Freeze Out is special
From FCS Executive Director Sarah Lundin
Freeze Out is a long-standing tradition for FCS and our community. Each year, staff, board members, and volunteers take to the streets to raise awareness about FCS and our heating assistance program, the Carol Kaplan Fuel Fund.
Our brigade of Freeze Out cheerleaders is one of the most dynamic groups of people to spend time with; full of energy, compassion, and the ability to have a good time no matter where they are, or what kind of weather!
I remember my first Freeze Out so fondly, being surrounded by people who had volunteered for this event since its beginning. The feeling of good will was contagious.
We have continued to gather every year, through the pandemic, through beautiful weather and less than desirable weather, to connect with our community and raise money so that our neighbors in need stay warm throughout the winter season.
Please join us on February 25th as we celebrate our 19th year hosting Freeze Out! You can participate in the fun by volunteering for the event, stopping by one of our donation stations the day of, or donating online via GoFundMe.
Hope to see you there!
