Freeze Out in the News

WGME 13 visited Freeport Community Center during Freeze Out and captured our volunteers collecting donations and our executive director talking about the 20th annual event.

“Liza Moore and her friend raised a few hundred dollars so far on Saturday afternoon.

This event is a tradition for them, they’ve been volunteering over the past two decades.

‘We’re just getting excited about what we are doing, our mission,’ said Moore. ‘It kind of just makes it fun to be here.'”

The Portland Press Herald published a story linking to the Freeze Out page of our website.

“Our community comes together each year in this effort to target the needs of our community, and this year we are raising funds for our food programs,” said Sarah Lundin, executive director of Freeport Community Services. “The need has been great, and we hope to inform people about this issue while asking them to contribute.”
