Genealogy will be the focus of Age-Friendly Freeport & Pownal’s next Lunch & Learn, on Wed., Jan. 24 at 12pm in the Bradley Room. Registration is closed for this event as of Jan. 23.
Learn from an expert about how to begin to research your family history using tools available online.
This event is being held in collaboration with Freeport Community Library, which hosts a Genealogy Hour weekly on Saturdays.
The workshop will be led by Freeport Community Library’s Andrew Hutchinson, who has a Masters degree in Library and Information Science from San Jose University and undergraduate degrees in History and Education from UMaine.
Andrew previously worked in the genealogy division of a California library, and currently runs the Genealogy Hour program at Freeport Community Library on Saturdays 12:30-1:30.
Andrew will present an overview of the various genealogy resources available in the library and beyond that everyone has access to. As time allows, he will also give a live demonstration showing how beginners can get started doing their family history online and will provide an extended Q&A session.
This event is offered at no cost. Please register in advance for the free lunch that will be available during the session.
