17 Sep New Events and Communications Manager
We’re very pleased to announce that we have hired Christine Lyons as the Events and Communications Manager at FCS.
Christine began work on September 14, and is thrilled to be joining the team at FCS. Christine became aware of FCS shortly after moving to Freeport, when a friend mentioned a great organization could use some support with a fundraising event. Since then, her fondness for the organization has only grown and strengthened.
Christine began her career in the classroom, teaching high school and running community and school programming at an independent boarding school. Her work evolved, leading to a position as a senior copywriter and marketing specialist for an educational publishing house. There she managed all group copy and communications and planned events for authors and sales conferences. Christine made the transition to freelancing, working as a copywriter and producer for over a decade.
In 2017, Christine joined the producing team for The Kids We Lose, an independent film about kids who struggle with behavioral challenges. The Kids We Lose received numerous awards, and is currently screening around the country, and as far afield as Sweden and Australia.
Christine lives in Freeport with her husband, two boys, two dogs, and one ferocious quarantine kitten.
