Selling heart signs as a fundraiser for Freeport Community Services

Spreading the Love

Curious about those red hearts popping up all over Freeport and Pownal?

Just after the election, a group of moms in Yarmouth were looking for a way to spread some love and joy. They struck upon the idea of the red hearts—and a movement of kindness was born. Soon, the Spread the LOVE community spirit- & fund-raiser was in full swing with hearts showing up all over the place. Neighbors woke to find a heart in their yard. Teachers were greeted with red hearts as they drove into school. And, businesses displayed them in their windows.

This symbol of kindness and community spirit quickly spread to Freeport and Pownal. Red heart signs are available for a suggested donation of $5 per sign. You can pick them up at FCS during Thrift Shop hours or call 865-3985 x 220 to schedule a time for contact light pick up. All proceeds support FCS’ programming—our Food Pantry, fuel assistance, CMP disconnects, and rental assistance.
