Leadership changes at FCS

In this year of so much change, FCS has one more bit of news to share with our community. Paula Paladino has resigned as the Executive Director of Freeport Community Services.

In her tenure here, Paula’s stewardship helped the organization to grow and mature. In her stalwart support of FCS’ mission and work, she developed a strong grant writing program. The incredible success of these grants funds programming and opportunities that serve and strengthen our community today, like the grant she secured for a new FCS truck. That truck now safely delivers farm fresh produce to our Pantry shelves. When she brought the Bridges Out of Poverty Conference to Freeport, it sparked important conversations and engaged our community. And, she was integral to the creation of the Age Friendly Freeport and Pownal Steering Committee that, among other accomplishments, has been helping people access vaccines. Age-friendly initiatives were truly a passion of hers and our community will be forever richer for her dedication to this work.

We all wish Paula well! We also want to assure you that the important work of FCS continues without missing a beat. Another great accomplishment of Paula’s was to assemble a truly excellent team at FCS. That team will continue to work for our community under the gracious leadership of Liza Moore, our Board of Directors Vice President who is serving as a temporary Interim Executive Director. We are also so grateful for the continued support of our loyal volunteers, caring community, generous donors, and dedicated Board of Directors. Freeport Community Services would not be what it is today without all of you.

A search for an interim and, ultimately, permanent Executive Director is underway. Until then, please know that you can reach out to Liza with any concerns or questions. Her contact information is below.

We are so grateful to Paula for all of her service to Freeport and Pownal. And, we look forward with continued optimism to the ongoing success of Freeport Community Services.
